Georgios Papazisis MD, PhD, is Associate Professor of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology at the Department of Clinical Pharmacology, School of Medicine of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Greece. He is a practicing psychiatrist specialized in psychopharmacology and Cognitive-Analytic Psychotherapy. Clinical Neuropsychopharmacology, pharmacovigilance (psychotropic drug safety and patient’s safety), adverse drug reactions, evidence-based psychiatryand psychiatric epidemiology (mental health disorders during pregnancy especially) are his fields of interest. In 2018 he completed the pharmacovigilance training course at Uppsala Monitoring Centre, the WHO collaborating Centre for international drug monitoring. Currently he is the principal investigator for Greece in two projects:

He currently serves as an External Expert for the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and is also National Representative Observer of the EMA Central Nervous System Working Party. Additionally, he serves as an external expert and clinical assessor for the Pharmacovigilance Department of the Greek National Organization for Medicines (EOF). He is also member of EOF’s Second Degree Scientific Advisory Board and was member of the National Committee for Illicit Drugs and the National Health Technology Assessment Committee. Dr. Papazisis is the Treasurer of the Greek Society of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology, member of the ‘Evidence Based Psychiatry’ section of the World Psychiatric Association and active member of the ECNP, AGNP, EACPT, ISoP.
